The Coopers' Dance to be held again 2016
The
Coopers' Dance was first mentioned on the 9th of August 1745. At this time the coopers
were dancing instead of the fishermen and so the special dance is performed at
unregular intervals (mostly every four years or at festively events). To the
music of Franz Schubert, 16 dancers perform the traditional dance and there
will be shown eight different dance figures. The jesters walk around in the
crowd and make their jokes. All in all a historic event in an impressive way.
