Weishaupt Art Gallery (Kunsthalle Weishaupt)
The Weishaupt Art Gallery is an important building block in both the Neue Strasse Project and in the “Culture Mile” of Ulm city centre.
Siegfried Weishaupt, an industrialist from Schwendi, commissioned the building of an art gallery between the municipal museum and the Northern office block on the Neue Strasse to house his private collection of modern art by well-known artists of the second half of the twentieth century.
The wedge-shaped building, adapted to the prevailing urban construction, was designed by Munich architects WWA - Wolfram Wöhr.
The clear lines of the building divide it into the three functions of the structure and define the different purposes required.
In addition to the art gallery, the building houses both a restaurant and jewellers.
